Yearly Review 2024 🌑 Into the sea
Where Michał is blown away by the past year and steps into another
Gooooood day to you fine Human, yet again from the most beautiful city in the world (in my humble opinion). That is, of course, Amsterdam. (Well, at least that's where I started writing.)
As I meander through it's streets soaking it's charm, I sink into the reflective mode of winter and the transition to another year.
To be honest I don't connect at all with the New Year bonanza. Somehow it never feels to me that a new year begins on the 1st of January. After all it's a man-made convention rather than universal truth. Still, it's quite nice to take advantage of the moment of pause in the worlds hussle and bussle and take time to rest, introspect, and consider what's up ahead.
I treated myself to a date with a library where I spent long hours studying for my sailing exams, but this time I flipped through a massive book with photos of Antarctica. It still blows my mind that I'll spend the next New Moon in the southest town in the world ready to board Tecla and sail there.
As I soaked the raw energy of that place I looked back at my 2024 tasting all the memories and feeling grateful for all the incredible people that I've had a chance to connect with.
2024 was incredible for me. I passed my sailing exams and fully stepped into sailing as a part of my lifestyle. I sailed on Grayhound - a very special boat with a vibe like no other (I mean… see this video). I built a ship on a desert. I hosted my first boat burn. I completed the creation cycle of one book and then wrote and published another one…
There's so many beautiful moments filling pages of my journals... And so many amazing humans! Soooo much gratitude for your existence and support!
The year ended with a bliss - an unexpectedly amazing card session recorded as a part of the application to perform at Boom Festival. And then I climbed a tree with my shaman to witness the arbitrary number of 2024 change into 2025.
The year is shaping to be a powerful one right from the start.
I'm about to board Twister today, a ship I fell in love with from the first sight and sail from Amsterdam to Lisbon. You can follow our journey here.
And then I take a few days of rest and head to Antarctica.
Fuck.
I’m excited and terrified. My favourite combo yet again.
Wishing you an absolutely delightful year and I'm looking forward to cross paths with you again 🤍
Seaaaaaaa ya!
ps. I watched Flow and it blew my mind. So fucking good. I haven’t seen something something new and that good in a long time. And it’s basically a biopic of Kiki, my cat companion, which makes it even better 🐈⬛
