I woke up on Tuesday with a strong feeling that I’d like to record a video for our youtube channel where we haven’t published for 2 years. It ended up being one of the shortest content creation cycles. Perhaps I’m getting closer to nailing my creative process?
Here’s what happened:
1) I did a quick braindump in my journal to process the idea:
2) I outlined the idea on paper in an easy-to-follow script which we could use during the recording:
3) I’ve prepped everything for shooting, cut the watermelon and pitched the idea to Silvia. She liked it.
4) We recorded the video* and uploaded it straight to youtube. Then it’s time for creating a sexy thumbnail in Canva, adding description and—Boom! It’s ready.

*Naturally, technology misbehaved and the recording stopped after 5 minutes, so we had to redo the video the following day. We didn’t like the second version, so we recorded it again, and this was the best take out of the three. What a great excuse to have another watermelon breakfast!
