I'm writing to you from a plane heading East over the vastness of the Atlantic Ocean.
After a couple of incredible months in Pico Island, it's time for another adventure.
Porto - mainland landing and connecting
Lisbon - launching "How to Build a Regenerative Village", a book I led the process of writing
Belgium - Enspiral Gathering
Netherlands - Connecting with Piratas do Amor and making an important decision: am I really enrolling into a school for professional tall ship crew and finally making my dream of sailing an integral part of my life?
Berlin - recording music with my dear friend João, connecting with the local tribe, and celebrating my 34th birthday
Poland - family connection time and snowboarding
Portugal - birthdays, co-creating Akinado card game, magick and decompression
And then back to Pico for another cycle.
🌳
As I'm away, a dear friend from my Nowhere Camp Sheepy Ship is staying in the Cabin - a sort of test-drive for Pico Cabin Residencies, and bringing the Burn culture into the island.
That ☝️ was one of my Pico dreams coming true - a pop-up sunset party (first of many), with good friends, new friends, good music, funky outfits, and a lot of play.
Speaking of play, here's a big announcement:
I decided that I'm not going to work any more.
Welcome to the Year of Play.
This is perhaps the most powerful reframe I ever made. Truth is, "work" is not something that gets me excited. It feels hard and unnecessary.
Not working doesn't mean "not contributing energy". I want to create. I want to experience. I want to connect. And I want to give my entire heart into things I do. And I want to do it from a place of play.
Play = Flow.
It is not possible to play and not be in flowstate. When I look back on my childhood, I remember getting lost for hours into building tall ships from lego bricks, or performing amazing shows in theatre groups. I was in a Constant. Freaking. Flow. And the results were amazing.
My best "work" happens when I play.
So from now on, it's something I embody on daily basis.
And, pretty much immediately, good things started to happen.
My day is now pretty much all play, meaning that I beam creative joy and funkiness all around
I genuinely enjoy things I do, and if I don't I just flip a switch and turn it into a game. And then I enjoy it and the result is just soooooooooo much better.
Example: the process of packing and closing loops before traveling (something that usually brings me stress - too many things to do, too little time) was a total blast. In fact I made a game about it: The Departure Game and it's all shipped and ready for you to enjoy.
My good vibe is spreading fast into my friends.
and more.
(Playing Akinado Cards with a friendddd ☝️ and if you’re wondering what’s that magickal board, well, it’s a treasure created by Pirates.)
Many games await to be shipped. Some are only ideas, some are already carddified and are about to be dropped into the world. Some are silly funsters. Some bring people together to a space where everyone feels safe to play and result in creating the most magical moments (and also more "tangible" outcomes, like ~200-page books encouraging the transition towards a regenerative way of living).
I packed my fav cards and games into a box, and took it with me for this Mainland journey.
Let's play!
With Grounded Excitement and Serious Fun,
Michał

ps. bonus - another fun thing that is coming up:
If you want to get married, or know someone who does - and are looking for an alternative ceremony, then I’d be delighted to be hold space for you 🔆
