Moonly Review 🌒 Semi-Nomad & The Sea
Where Michał resurfaces from a month-long book writing mastermind and gears up for a winter full of sailing.
Hi there from Bristol, my favourite city in England. It's one of these few cities in the world that give me a feeling of wanting to spend more time.
I just resurfaced from the Semi-Nomad Mastermind. I spent the whole October in Leysin, a scenic mountain town in Switzerland writing a book about Semi-Nomadic lifestyle with 13 fantastic humans.
WTF is Semi-Nomadism?
It's a lifestyle which combines having a home (or multiple homes) with traveling. There's a lot of questions to explore such as: how to maintain relationships? how to care for the buildings when you're away? how to belong? how to deal with health insurance? And so much more. As far as I'm aware this is the first book on the subject ⚡️.
The book is now available for pre-order and we'll be shipping the printed softcover with amazing illustrations in Nov/Dec.
I feel deeply moved by the mastermind experience. Bringing people together to create something meaningful over a longer period of time makes me come alive like not many other things. It's my Ikigai. Spending a month surrounded by awe-inspiring Alps, playing squash and chilling in the sauna almost every day, and building friendships is a delight in its own right, but combining it with creating something to be proud of takes it to another level. I feel grateful, fulfilled, and excited.
One of the best moments was this one - a spontaneous cuddle puddle that emerged of the closing circle on the last day, which quickly turned into a sleeping pile. It’s beautiful to feel so comfortable and connected with people with whom you just completed a quest. Best feedback evah.
I won't go too much into detail here because I made a 55 second video that captures the vibe of the mastermind:
(Click here if the video doesn't load.)
And I just published a massive reflection article documenting the whole experience. It’s almost 4000 words. Grab a cuppa and enjoy.
There are more masterminds on the horizon - April in Switzerland and Fall 2025 in Mexico. Join this telegram group for more info, and feast your eyes with the mountains around the venue:
After Switzerland it was time to visit my family in Poland. I spent a few days enjoying the quality time with parents, sister and 96 year old granny.
We also went for a little trip to Bieszczady, one of the most scenic parts of Poland. It felt so good to be there. The landscape reminded me a bit of Scotland and I was lucky to hang out with deer and foxes on a cold morning walk.
What a delight!
And then, pooooooooooof, UK time, including quality time with this incredible human:
What's Next?
Life is looking exciting as always.
I'm finalising the crew for Quest Antarctica - a 22-day expedition to the end of the world on a traditional expedition sailing ship. It's been a crazy ride to make this trip happen. I have last spots available (start 30 Jan from south of Chile, €6.5k). If you wanna hop on board for a trip of a lifetime, reach out directly NOW.
I'll be sailing on Twister (the tall ship I fell in love with from the first sight) in January, from Rotterdam to Lisbon. I'm partnering with my friend Luca to create a book about lessons from the sea and prototype my card-powered co-creation method aboard a sailing vessel. If that's your jam, ping me for details!
I'm preparing for the How To Semi-Nomad Book Tour at the end of November. I'll be traveling from Poland to Berlin, Amsterdam, Lisbon and possibly Brussels and Paris on the way. If you know of a good venue in these places, or any contacts that can help make it happen - give me a shout. And hopefully see you around!
And I'll be heading to Edinburgh, a dear city where I spent a big chunk of my life, for a couple of days soon. Edi crew - give me a shout 🤍
Wishing you a wonderful Moon Cycle!
Michał
