Moonly Review 🌑 Gatherings, Money, Belonging
Emerging on the other side and opening myself up 🌳✨⛵️
Happy New Moon!
It's incredible how energy can shift from one day to another. While the previous moon cycle was all about going deep into the dark side of myself, this time, I felt like fish in the water, flowing through Abundance and connecting with beautiful Souls around me.
🐠
And I've had a blast.
I guess, this is partially reflected in my Moonly Review Video Journal, which is one of my favourites due to the soundtrack. A big part of it was recorded during a spontaneous trip to jump into the magical lagoon hidden within a magical forest. And there's a lot of drumming to.
This cycle was full of Gatherings.
I've hosted a few community events in Pico (Drum Circles, Film Screenings, Community Weaving Workshops), and somehow throughout this process our Pico Congregation reached a significant milestone - we begun our conversation about money.
You can check out my reflections in our documentation: Piconomics 101.
Speaking of money, I've also designed a business strategy workshop for a local business, which was a great opportunity to support friends into meaningful work, by engaging in meaningful work. And of course, play with another use for Cards (a collaborative meta game I've been developing over the last two years).
Happy people making magic.
Moving towards Manifesting
Another update from Pico: the Core Hosting Team for our next Community Gathering started moving the energy. The team includes four people, two past organisers (including me) and two freshers - so we can gradually build a pool of people with hosting experience. A part of me wants to share the theme with you here, but I'll keep it to myself for now, until I get the Gathering Invitation ready.
✨
Okay, more goodness:
I took a step beyond Pico and facilitated the Faial Community Day.
One of the best things about living in Pico, is that there are two other islands within a reach of a quick ferry, and I've been really vibing with Faial for months. There's a part of me that is still considering a possibility of living there, but Pico just feels like home. In any case, until I am committed to a land, I'm open for possibilities. And I certainly love the people on both islands (thank you for BEING 💜 ).
More playfulness after 5 minute contact improvisation workshop. Thanks for the pic, Austeja.
Anyway - Faial, similarly to Pico has a naturally emerging community, and I just gave it a few useful tools and practices, along with a bit of energy.
The Map with Crews and Projects, created with Community Council, a community catalysing game I keep developing.
Funny story - apparently one person didn't join the workshop because I used the word "catalyst" to describe myself in the invitation. During the closing circle, people admitted that "catalyst" is, in fact, the right choice of vocabulary to describe what I do. Hearing that brought a big smile on my face.
And it seems that I've started to plant seeds for the Azores Regenerative Network. I'll be back to Faial for more community-weaving and playful creation, but there's also another area I'd like to look into in the next months - connecting with sailors. If you are one and want to explore possibilities of connecting Pico / Azores with the Mainland Portugal (and beyond) don't hesitate to reach out.
⛵️
With all of these things going on, I somehow managed to start updating our Microsolidarity in Pico documentation (inspired by a fantastic overhaul to Microsolidarity). Some links might be broken, and there's still some reorganising to do, but I like the direction. Let me know what you think, if you feel like it.
Guess what - there's even more (wow, this month was full!):
Money, Money
A big intention for this Moon Cycle was to work on my relationship with money and open myself up to financial abundance. I guess a part of me feels like money is kinda shitty, and also I resonate much more with the Gift Economy than capitalism. It's all confusing and messy and I don't feel like digging deeper into it right now, but the key takeaway is that there is some kind of self blockage inside of me, which I want to remove, without sacrificing my values.
And it seems to be working. All of the events I created this month operated within Gift Economy and I received not only a lot of Gifts, but also money. I don't really need many euros to thrive, but I can't wait to finally have a Home, which most likely will require a significant financial investment, way more than my funny savings can afford right now. Slowly, slowly. Abundance is already here.
Intention:
I'm following my Heart and tune into Flow, and move closer towards Belonging and Meaningful Work.
In that process, I create gatherings: containers where magic happens, and document the entire journey. If you'd like to support me financially, a small recurring donation via Patreon goes a long way. I'm also available to help you with your own community-weaving adventures. There's no landing page for what I can offer - if that's something that you could use support with, reach out and we'll take it from there.
Digital Money, Money
I've completed the Introduction to web3, Crypto & DeFi Online Course. It gave me an opportunity to move some tokens around, play around with yield farming, providing liquidity pools and some other funky stuff. I'm particularly excited about the possibilities of ReFi - I have a feeling that there is a connection between my Land Stewardship Master (which I won't go into in this review) and regenerative crypto.
Speaking of regen-topics:
Forest Guardian Apprenticeship
I spent some time working in the Land, clearing the Forest to bring in more biodiversity and help it become a nurturing and self-healing Food Forest. I love working with and in between trees. 🌳
Going Eastward ✈️
I'm leaving from Pico for a few weeks to visit my family. It's been two years. And while a part of me feels a bit anxious about the weird and disturbing conflict in neighbouring Ukraine, I'm very excited to reconnect with my roots.
Family relationships are always tricky to navigate, but it's possibly one of the most important areas to heal.
As a bonus, I'll get to feast on Pierogi - a delight of Polish cuisine. Nom Nom Nom.
That's it for now.
Love and Light, as always ☀️
